DEMS CONTINUE TO PROTECT PENSIONS OF DIRTY POLITICIANS

DEMS CONTINUE TO PROTECT PENSIONS OF DIRTY POLITICIANS

Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C,I-Troy) today ripped Assembly leadership for stalling on ethics reform as session nears its end

“The Democrat Majority is trying to escape this year’s session without passing any meaningful ethics reforms, but I will continue to expose their intentional negligence. How can anyone say this is not the most important legislative priority we have after two of New York’s most powerful players got a combined 17-year vacation in the slammer on federal corruption charges? Is the Assembly pulling strings to protect the pensions of their own corrupt members or are they simply refusing to listen to the cries for ethics reform across the state? Once again, Assembly Democrats had a chance to make a real difference today and restore faith in government and once again they miserably failed.”

Assemblyman McLaughlin represents the 107th district, which consists of parts of Rensselaer, Columbia and Washington counties. For more information,
