Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C,I-Schaghticoke) welcomed a group of 4th grade students from Chatham School District to the Capitol on Wednesday. McLaughlin, a staunch supporter of primary education, said he was pleased to host students from a school in his district and enjoyed teaching them about the inner workings of New York State government.
“Anytime I have the opportunity to host students from my district in Albany it is a tremendous experience,” McLaughlin said. “By giving young students an inside look at state government, we can spark their interest early and make them more informed and politically active citizens. I wish the children I met on Wednesday and Thursday the best as they close out the school year, and I look forward to more opportunities like this in the future.”
Assemblyman McLaughlin represents the 107th district, which consists of parts of Rensselaer, Columbia and Washington counties. For more information,
