McLAUGHLIN HONORED AS LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR
The New York State Rifle and Pistol Association acknowledges
Assemblyman McLaughlin’s tireless work in defending our second amendment
Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C,I-Melrose) has been named New York Legislator of the Year by the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. The award is given annually to a member from both the Senate and Assembly who stands by New York sportsmen in protecting our second amendment rights.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to receive such a distinction, as many of my colleagues would have also been very deserving of this honor,” said McLaughlin. “The law-abiding gun owners across our state have every right to defend themselves with commonly used and owned firearms. I will continue the fight for our families and our constitutional rights, and am hopeful that we are nearing our goal of a full repeal of the NY ‘Un’-SAFE Act.”
The President of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, Tom King, commended the Assemblyman, saying, “Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin has been a consistent and ardent supporter of the second amendment. Since the ill-conceived NY S.A.F.E. Act was passed Steve has stridently condemned this blatant infringement on our freedom. Assemblyman McLaughlin is richly deserving of being named legislator of the year.”
Assemblyman McLaughlin represents the 107th district, which consists of parts of Rensselaer, Columbia and Washington counties. For more information, please visit Assemblyman McLaughlin’s official website.
