Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C,I-Schaghticoke) today announced that 7 libraries in his district will receive grant funding to make various infrastructure and cosmetic upgrades. Kinderhook Memorial Library, Arvilla E. Diver Memorial Library, Castleton Public Library, Cheney Library, East Greenbush Community Library, Grafton Community Library and Sand Lake Town Library will all receive grants in the range of $4,485 to $27,208 as part of a capital fund appropriation in the 2014-15 State Budget.
“I am proud to announce that state funding will be given directly to these 7 major libraries in my district,” McLaughlin said. “Libraries play a vital role in communities across the state by offering access to the Internet, research materials, books and computer resources that not all families are able to own. They also offer reading materials for all ages and interests and are a free community resource that we must protect. This funding will provide for facility repairs, energy-efficient windows and doors and cosmetic upgrades to enhance the patron experience.”
