Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C,I-Schaghticoke) today endorsed GOP Chatham Town Supervisor candidate Jesse DeGroodt in his bid for re-election. DeGroodt is a lifelong resident of Chatham with an impressive resume that includes covering town issues through local media outlets, working for the Mac-Haydn Theatre and highly active in bringing broadband internet access to the town.

“As a representative of this town since my election in 2010, I have seen first-hand Jesse DeGroot’s commitment to the Town of Chatham,” McLaughlin said. “Jesse has faithfully served his community for 16 years and earned the title of Best Managed Town of 2015 by the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. He has also established a working Citizens Finance Committee in an effort to ensure fiscal solvency and lower taxes for residents. I am proud and honored to endorse Jesse DeGroot for Town Supervisor of Chatham and look forward to working with him for many years to come.”

Assemblyman McLaughlin represents the 107th District, which consists of parts of Rensselaer, Columbia and Washington counties. For more information,
