McLAUGHLIN AMONG TOP BUSINESS-FRIENDLY LEGISLATORS ACCORDING TO UNSHACKLE UPSTATE

Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C,I-Schaghticoke) was recently awarded a high score in an evaluation of all New York State Legislators by Unshackle Upstate.  McLaughlin, New York’s top-ranked pro-jobs legislator, according to the New-York Business Council, emphasized the continued need for economic growth and job creation in upstate New York.

“Families are still struggling out there and I will continue to fight for quality jobs and a more business-friendly environment in the Capital Region,” McLaughlin said.  “As a former businessman and private-sector employee, I know first-hand how to improve New York’s private sector, and it starts with cutting taxes and eliminating red tape.  The relocation of Bausch & Lomb and Remington Arms out of New York are perfect examples of how the Democratic leadership in the Assembly and the Governor’s Office continue to smother high-profile businesses.”

Unshackle Upstate is an independent organization devoted to improving the business environment in New York State.  The organization specializes in advocating for legislation that is advantageous to taxpayers and spurs economic growth in upstate New York.  McLaughlin achieved a perfect score in the fields of budget advocacy and sponsorship of legislation to relieve the burden on taxpayers.  McLaughlin is running for re-election in the 107th Assembly District, which includes parts of Washington, Rensselaer and Columbia Counties.
