“If you look at the dictionary definition of political grandstanding, you would probably find the so-called ‘reforms’ we voted on today in Albany. Putting committee votes online would not have stopped Sheldon Silver from using his power and influence to accumulate millions in dirty money and run Albany like an organized crime ring for decades.
“What we need are stringent, systematic changes such as stripping pensions from corrupt lawmakers and term limits for legislative leaders. Both are measures I have championed for years. Until we truly reform the way business is done in Albany and break down the undemocratic power structure, corrupt and malfeasance will continue. Drain the swamp.”
